Funding Opportunities:
Royal Society Partnership Grant Scheme: The Partnership Grants scheme provides grants of up to £3,000 for science projects run at a primary or secondary school or college in partnership with a professional scientist or engineer. https://royalsociety.org/education/partnership/
Scholarships for Teachers and SEN Support Staff (DfE): Teachers can bid for up to £3,500 while SEN support staff can bid for up to £2,000 to fund training which will improve the support available to children and young people with special educational needs. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-scholarships-for-teachers-and-sen-support-staff
The Goldsmiths’ Grant for Teachers: Provides teachers and head teachers with an opportunity to take time out from the classroom in order to undertake an original project of their choice, in the UK or abroad, aimed at enhancing their personal and professional development. The grant, of up to £3,000, covers the cost of travel, accommodation, materials, etc. In addition the Company will pay a maximum of £2,000 supply cover to your school. http://www.thegoldsmiths.co.uk/charity-education/education/grants-for-teachers/
In Your School: Before next year’s budgets kick in, see if there are some funding opportunities available for action-research in your own school. Maybe all you need is some cover (which of course has budget implications) or maybe you’ll need some specialised resources or administrative support.

The resources posted here primarily support the curriculum for the United Kingdom, KS3-KS5. However, they are highly adaptable, as many of the themes discussed carry through a variety of national standards.

A groupwork-based activity for groups of 8 students. This booklet provides the guidance for students to create different components of a cathedral, for a unit on "Cathedrals and Pilgrimages." This booklet was designed for use in classes which utilize Tribes to organize group work. Tribes Training doesn't appear to have caught on as fully in the U.K. as in Canada, however I highly recommend investigating it. For more information on Tribes Training, click here.
